Why do I need so many RC?

We often receive questions from players asking why some Family Farm items require RC. Here’s why.

To continue the development of a game like Family Farm, requires money. Except from things like desks and computers, we also want to provide a decent salary for all the programmers, designers, translaters, etcetera. To make that possible, and to make little profit on top of that, we need income. We have several sources of income, not the least of which is the selling of RC for the game. Without this source of income, we would not be able to create and continuously develop this game that our players love so much.

That is why some items or actions in the game can or, in a few cases, have to be bought using RC.

Of course, we don’t want to exaggerate. To our philosophy, even without buying RC with real money, the game has to remain fun to play. That is why many things, among which the most essential things, are obtainable with either the standard game coins, or with smaller amounts of RC (amount for which it is humanly possible to save up RC’s that you can earn for free in the game).

Free RC
You can earn free RC in the game by leveling up, or by logging in to the game on a daily basis. If you login every day, your Daily Login Bonus can increase to as many as 10 RC per week!

  1. Special items designer beehives and limited edition items I understand, but why are some construction items that are required for tasks only obtainable with RC? I find that a little mean spirited to make items for tasks require the use of real money rather than recommend it for an easier alternative. *Example: Funnel for Coffee Machine*

  2. I agree with Brian, basic items that are required as part of a task should be exempted. Most games have premium items for sale and we all know what they are and what they cost in advance. Its a bit late after you buy eg: coffee machine and you need 13RC to complete it.

  3. Agree... the greenhouse takes 12RC and 20,000 coin. Feeling a little ripped off knowing I can't afford to pay the RC. Just a big building sitting around. Thanks for making it so hard to build.

  5. You should make it so that before we buy an item (say.. the well which takes 25RC) you should display on the purchase area the amount of RC that will be needed to complete the item being built. It's exactly like Joslyn said with the greenhouse. It's just sitting around taking up space because I can't afford to finish it. I understand you want to make some profit off the game, but without displaying the RC cost upfront, I feel I'm being cheated or tricked into HAVING to complete it. You really need to implement this change in the near future.

  6. Helo Felicia... I am Aven from Indonesia. I like to play family farm.... But, it seems like play Happy Land. My questions are:
    1. What the difference of both game?
    2. Can I transfer RC in one of these games to another, ex. from Happy Land to Family Farm?

In Indonesia, as long as I know, Happy Land is more popular than Family Land.

    Best Regards....

  8. I have to say I have already spent $100 dollars and I am kicking myself. With millions of players, I don't think you need $100 per person. I also agree with the requiring of RC for completion of task items. Its the tasks that keep you playing and I honestly am getting tired of paying money for an online game. I get nothing that I don't get from playing my $2.99 Monopoly app. Please reconsider your thoughts on RC and what you are making people pay for. Otherwise it;s too expensive for me to keep playing...

  9. I agree with wanting to know up front what a cost will be in RC. That way I can save up my RC until I have enough or am close enough so that buildings/machines don't just sit there taking up space. Knowing the cost won't stop me from buying. I don't mind paying a little money. To me, Family Farm or any online game is a hobby. Some people spend their money on model railroads, others like to buy books, I personally also love to quilt. So some of my spending cash goes to fabric and some to RC. I'm okay with that. Seriously...where can you get fabric or beads or books or any supplies for free for whatever your hobby is? How often does Starbuck's give free coffee? The RC's are not that expensive IMO and it's the only game I've ever played that is so generous with the free RC's every week.

  11. I don't see why we cant use our coins like rc I have 5,752,412 coins! It takes me forever to save enough rc for example the butterfly house needs 24 rc. I have not put any of my real money in the game. I play for fun and it is impossible to complete missions. I get only so far and then I need a fig tree, ostrich to complete my missions. wish I could use coins like cash! I have a baby i take care of and dont want to waste money on a farm game.

  12. Have they discontinued the free RC for logging on? I have been playing for several months now without missing the daily log on and have never gotten any RC.

  13. The amount of RCs this game requires is ridiculous! I'm about to quit playing.
